Ahsen Ansari and Trevor Hodgins are a true representation of the power of partnership. Portfolio Manager, Investment & Wealth Advisor
After beginning his wealth management career at a Canadian bank-owned firm, Ahsen moved to RBC Dominion Securities as an Investment Advisor, and uses his expertise to design comprehensive investment solutions for successful individuals, businesses, and families. His entrepreneurial spirit, interest in the markets, and relationship-first approach ensures every client’s financial plan is tailored specifically to their unique needs.
With previous experience as an analyst in commercial banking, Ahsen brings a well-rounded perspective to wealth management. He focuses on exceptional service, prudent investment management, minimizing cost, and holistic planning, and has been recognized by RBC Dominion Securities and clients alike for demonstrating a strong commitment to client experience, integrity, and an excellent work ethic. A graduate of Simon Fraser University, Ahsen has a degree in Economics. He has also earned the Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and the Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
Ahsen lives in the Hastings-Sunrise neighbourhood of East Vancouver with his wife, Jessica, and their two young boys, Levi and Kian. They often spend their weekends exploring local cafés and restaurants. Outside of work, Ahsen enjoys playing various sports, spending time with family, and travelling – most recently visiting Colombia and Panama.
Trevor brings passion and energy to his work as an investment advisor, as he assists individuals, families, and businesses throughout Canada and abroad with the creation and preservation of wealth. Described as hardworking and personable, he offers a caring approach to helping individuals and organizations achieve their financial goals, and believes that the key to building long-term relationships is offering full-service wealth management solutions that put his clients’ needs first.
Acting as your “personal chief financial officer,” Trevor specializes in tax-efficient investment planning, execution, and monitoring as part of a greater wealth management strategy, drawing on RBC Wealth Management’s team of 200-plus financial planners, accountants, tax experts, and other specialists to ensure you have access to the resources and guidance you need. Depending on you, your family, and your unique circumstances, this strategy may include financial planning, business succession planning, tax-minimization, and insurance solutions to ensure a well-rounded and comprehensive approach.
Trevor received a Bachelor of Commerce degree with honours from the University of British Columbia Sauder School of Business, leading him to work at PricewaterhouseCoopers in downtown Vancouver as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities. In this role, he received National Honour Roll status for his performance in the Common Final Exam, awarded for placing in the top 1% of CPA candidates across Canada. In addition to his CPA designation, Trevor is also a Certified Financial Planner (CFP®), Chartered Investment Manager (CIM®), and one of the select few within the firm to be licensed in derivatives and options trading.
Trevor lives in the Lower Lonsdale neighbourhood of North Vancouver with his wife, Nicole, and their Dutch Shephard, Taz. Outside of work, Trevor leads a social life balanced with fitness, academia, and skiing. Having played university baseball, he now enjoys slow-pitch.
Associate Advisor
As our administrative lead, and a critical member of our team, Tim is primarily tasked with providing financial planning support. He does that by building strategic plans and coordinating meetings with the vast in-house wealth specialists at RBC Dominion Securities. Tim supports the team’s holistic wealth management approach by guiding clients through a comprehensive wealth management experience. He also uses his extensive knowledge and interpersonal skills to provide a high level of client service.
He collaborates with your professional advisors as well as RBC’s in-house experts, such as lawyers, accountants, insurance advisors and wealth managers, to ensure that you receive financial advice that is unique to your needs. Tim graduated with a degree in Economics from the University of Victoria, and is currently working toward the completion of his Chartered Investment Manager (CIM) and Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designations.
Tim lives in Squamish with his wife, Lauren, and their cat, Saratops. When he’s not at the office, you can find Tim enjoying all that the Squamish outdoors have to offer – from hiking and climbing to mountain biking and snowboarding. Tim is also an avid NBA fan and spent many years as an auto mechanic hobbyist, building and rebuilding a vast array of vehicles.
Associate
With a strong passion for learning and an insatiable desire to always improve her skills, Lauren is well equipped to serve as our team’s portfolio trading specialist. Lauren is tasked with implementing investment strategies, monitoring asset allocation, rebalancing accounts and providing oversight on discretionary portfolios. She prides herself on delivering the highest level of service, going above and beyond to satisfy the needs of our clients.
With a keen interest in the financial industry, Lauren moved to Canada as an international student to earn a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) degree from the University of British Columbia. Shortly after graduating, she served as a customer experience associate at another leading financial institution, strengthening her knowledge of complex administrative processes and best practices in client service. Looking to increase her expertise, Lauren is currently pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation as a Level III candidate.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys staying active by playing badminton and snowboarding. She also enjoys travelling, and building LEGO sets.
Administrative Assistant
Extremely detail-oriented, Anna expertly handles a vast array of administrative duties for our team, from serving as our first point of contact and answering client enquiries to account openings and setting up various documentation. Whatever the task, she is determined to make the process seamless and to provide a client experience that offers peace of mind by delivering exceptional service and exceeding every expectation.
Prior to joining RBC Dominion Securities, Anna worked as an Executive Assistant at multiple international wealth management firms in Hong Kong for over 16 years. Anna has relocated back to Vancouver and strives to continue her career in wealth management with dedication and commitment. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family and traveling.
